Erbie Barfoot 85, died Friday, February 12, 2010, at home. We mourn the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We take comfort in knowing he is with our Lord and Saviour.
Erbie was born June 18, 1924 to Leon and Ollie Barfoot of Union, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Winnie Leach of Brandon; Mattie Lou Leach of Brandon; and Brother Thomas Barfoot of Memphis, TN. He is survived by one sister, Louise Adams of Brandon.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served 1942-1945.
He worked for Colonial Baking Company for 27 years until he retired in 1978.
Erbie was a devout Christian and a long time member of McDowell Road Baptist Church until its closing in 2005. He was a member of Raymond Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Frances Barfoot of Raymond. Sons, Bobby W. Barfoot of Morton and Richard C. Williams of DeKalb. Daughters, Brenda S. Puderer of Raymond, Pamela A. Lovett of Raymond and Donna M. Barfoot of Madison; Seven Grandchildern, Dawn M. Magee of Brandon, Jesse J. Sellers of Fairbanks, AK, Zoe C. Barfoot of Madison, Melanie Ingram of Hattiesburg, Matthew R. Williams of Meridian, Trasa Vasquez of Grand Rapids, MI and Angela B. Smith of Canton, and two Nephews, Edward Leach of Clinton and Jerrry Leach of Brandon.
He is also survived by Twelve great grandchildren and Two great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14th, from 2 pm to 4 pm at Lakewood South Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15th at 12 Noon in the chapel at Lakewood South with burial to follow in Lakewood South Memorial Park.
